sorry guys new to all the commodore stuff and still trying to get everything in...i see here and there that there are ex cop cars but how can you positively tell, i dont know what im looking for and is there a difference like performance wise between a car thats not a ex cop car and one that is?
Ryan
Look at your compliance plate, or at your rego papers, if it's an ex cop car it'll be a BT1.
ALso the speedo has exact incriments on the dash too.......little dashes between the actual speed.

I'd be using the search button champ as this has been covered before.
all the foils and little plastic baggies shoved down the back of the seat:P
if its a later model, its a 9C1
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
Blood on the rear seat from where the coppers bash the bad guys.
Oh, and don't forget the "cop chip".
how to tell
depends on range and if it is a sedan or wagon
a SS or a Crewman or adventra
they have diff codes not like older VH to VL BT1 code
i have all the codes over the whole rage up to VE
VT = executive sedan n wagon = 9C1, SS sedan (A/T) = A8V 824, SS sedan (supercharged V6 A/T) = A8V & 834,
SS sedan (5.0 M/T) = A8V & 825, SS sedan (5.7 M/T) = A8V & 826
and a VT Taxi sedan = A9T
VX = executive sedan n wagon = 9C1, SS sedan (A/T) = A8V 824, SS sedan (supercharged V6 A/T) = A8V & 834,
SS sedan (5.0 M/T) = A8V & 825, SS sedan (5.7 M/T) = A8V & 826

Theres also the switch on the dash the kills all interior lights and foam missing out of the drivers seat on the right hand side for the gun to sit, plus mounts for siren on passenger side firewall under bonnet, i regret buying mine but i didnt know it was a 9c1 till i was driving it home and seen all the patched up holes....shoulda looked at it better on first inspection!!!
Donut King bags in glovebox
HAHA...
I wouldn't buy one because of the possible insurance issues.
That was one of the questions they asked me when I insured my car "Was it a police car" because I might pay a higher premium because the car had been flogged...or possible because of any mods the cops used.
