Hi Guys,
a friend has just purchased a VX SS S2 and we are trying to get the factory CD player to work, now we have confirmed the pin code with holden via the VIN number, and this still isn't working, does anyone know anything else we can try???
Cheers,
Jamie
That might not be the radio that originally came with the car. Maybe the manufacturer of the radio can help you with the code. Sometimes when you buy them second hand they will have the code written somewhere on the radio.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
You have 2 options as i see it....
1...get another radio from the wreckers with a code..known to work
2....you can contact the maker....holden dealers have done this...and asked for the radio code...
the problem is the makers dont think its their job to keep records going back ...years...
they take the time to sell to holden the radio with a code...
and holden take the radio and code and place on file and on the owners security card and in most cases write it donw on the radios instruction book.....why ..due to the common reason people need the code....flat or dead battery
or you can get a updated radio...and really that is the best way to go....
something with dual din gps/tv/bluethooth/wifi/dvd/rear camera/fm/am etc etc with plug in ipod/sd etc etc
dont expect the code to the radio --as in hard written....most wreckers dont do that....they just place a sticker on with it...
and tell the new owner to rip the sitcker off and place it somewhere else..when they fit the radio....
so looking at the back of this radio is a long shot....and dont forget to use the radio remover tool or simular
hope this helps![]()
okay, after coming to terms and realising that it must be a different one i tried various codes randomly,
1-1-1-1 worked! now the only issue is it keeps flashing/counting down to switching off??? still plays CD's but flashed the whole team and then goes back to CDE (on the screen) is there a way to stop this???
with 1-1-1-1 no way....
its a temp code only....
sorry![]()
