    Default Power train light faulty?

    Hey all

I had to drive down to pakenham on saturday for a friends birthday. I was travelling from caulfield, so it was only about 50km.
I was going down the Monash, and got near the Officer turn off, and the power train(or drive train. which ever its called) light came on. So i pulled up. turned the car off, gave it a 5 min rest, then started it back up, and it was off, and stayed off on the rest of the trip.

Then coming home on sunday. Was going along the monash again, got to the Wellington road turn off. the light came on, i pulled up, turned the car off then on, and the light disappeared, and didnt come back.

Can anyone think of why this may have happened?

Also, i dunno if this is relevant or not, but sunday night i went out for a bit, had been in the car about 5 minutes, and the thermo went up to H, so the car beep and displayed 'HOT' on the dash, before cooling down again.

    :S

    Thanks

It sounds like you have an intermittent fault of some kind. The best thing to do is check for fault codes and this will probably show what the fault is. Whenever the warning light comes on there should be a fault code logged. If you don't know how to check the codes, do a search because it has been explained many times.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
