Hey guys, Never installed a TV Player / Arial In a car, And was wondering where abouts is the best place for them? Hopefully I can keep it inside of the car, Maybe on the back Parcel Shelf? I'm not sure here on the exterier it would look any good..... Any recommendations? The DVD Player I'm buying comes with Digital TV, So I may as well take full advantage of it and install that side of it also.
Any pics of your installs, where they are etc etc...
My mate just has is aerial floating around in his center console.
hey mate depending how long it is, try run it to the rear window underneath all the trim up to the top of the window and some double sided tape to hold it, or what ever makes it look flush and factory, my old lancruiser ute i ran it up above the mirror on the winscreen and worked well.....but all the cars ive been in with the tv, the reception is always siht house and i even had some booster built into mine that had its own power supply.
Hope that helps anyway
Thanks guys, that's awesome, I'll try and run it to the parcel shelf. Much appreciated.
as i said the best place is on top of the roof....
because you will get the signal from any direction without suffering....
a quality tuner for cars in digital will work with speeds up to 150kms/hr
a average one works to 50---80kms an hr
allot of these tuners do need boosting......and they need so because there are located inside a car...
i may be a tv fitter to cars....however i have had and hold a radio hams licence , and marine radio licence........
and was a computer weapons in RAN...
and like lpg ...there a heap of fitters in the game of sounds for shops...who dont have tech knowledge....in the field....
money see ....monkey do....
is how they learned...and they could be brilliant at it...
and most dont know there own products...let allone others...
I told you inside is fine.....but let me tell you the golden rule in anything to do with antenna.......
HEIGHT IS MIGHT....
And clear on the roof reflects all the car freq noise as well.....
there is only 2 main draw backs to roof ..height is might rule
1_ ant flex and sway
2_ required good earth for just in case ..storms...
so a stub rubber ducky on the roof works..its omnidirectional...means its dont favour any direction
its prob loaded coil base....means its got more than 1 ant freq wavelenght of antenna
its insulated to max... and thick so wont move at 100 plus kms...
great for signal stability....
i dont care what you get with the ant inside the car ,,,it be better for longer and under more conditions outside...
why cause effectivly signal strenght and field strenght will be greater...
and you need both at standing point let allone moving ....
