    Default VT Commodore Olympic Edition

Hey guys just had a quick question, my vt has only 110,000km on it since i bought it new, latley i have been noticing in over drive and on acceleration between 80km and above the car shudders and shakes for a small period of time.

Not sure where to start so i thought i would ask before i get ripped off by a mechanic

    thanks for your time

    Mike.

    that could be anything.....

could be engine mount or transmission mount......
    could be uni joints....

    could be clutch
could be low of oil in an auto

    could be harmonic balancer..

    and the list goes on....
you need to find where its coming from more ...and more info like when it dont happen and where it only happens...

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......you need to know where its moving ...for this shutter....i can assume its drive line..shutter...
    but is it?

or is it driving shutter...where you drive and nothing to do with engine...byut car speed..and then you get this hugh shutter...
do you feel the shutter on in the steering wheel in your hands...
    in your hands only?
or shutter in the whole car?
does it start shuttered ..and increases then stops if you sped past the danger speed..

you are not telling or givening me enough...info

ok the feeling is through the body of the car, so the whole car shudders the shudders are like when the speed increased but only seems to happy above 80 when you start to increase speed, never happens when say driving at the same speed so say i am driving at 80 on the road and want to go faster i put my foot down its increases the speed and shakes and the shuddering stops

I found with uni joints in my cars over the years that they only tended to be noisy/rough when the car was maintaining speed, or decelerating. Whenever there was any pressure on them, like when you accelerated, they went quiet again.

Check your spark plugs and leads. One lead may be open circuit or some of them may have too much resistance.

working your way from the cheapest to the dearest .start with checking the leads.if ones gone it tends to be the shortest or the longest that go1st, check you cv,s then get a service on the tranny>>>and see how you go..........best of luck

If its leads you will tell put handbrake on foot on brake in drive give the engine a good rev and hold it there so u are stalling it up means yourf putting it under load but not going anywhere and if its the leads you tell it;ll miss and feel and not sound right, thatll be the leads braking down, do the plugs while your doing the leads

I'm all for checking leads and plugs. The giveaway is hitting 80km/h under load. Mine did the same exact thing, one lead was buggered.
