    Default Catalytic Converter and Diesel

I managed to get some free fuel but the fuel has some diesel in it.
Would it hurt the Catalytic Converter or any other part ?
Appox mix of 40 litres unleaded and 15 litres Diesel.
It seems to start rough but then warms up OK.
Maybe I should top up with Premium 98 unleaded ?

Top up with any petrol, it doesn't have to be premium. It will be fine, just be smokey and smelly and run a bit rough until all the diesel has gone.

Is diesel a heaver fuel than petrol? If so, let it sit over night and siphon the petrol of the top ...

Diesel will poison your cat (and O2 sensors), just like lead, engine oil, coolant, silicone and a whole host of other chemicals will.
(You have to ask yourself though, do you think your cat works efficiently anymore anyway? How many kms has your VT done?)

Diesel is soluble in petrol and will stay in solution, even when left for a while. It needs to be evaporated to be separated - hence cracking towers and intense heat at refineries.

Your car will also chuff out filthy white smoke - enough to make the boys in blue take notice. Just think about how little an amount of engine oil needs to be burnt to produce a smokey exhaust.

    I wouldn't recomend it.

Nothing to risk, it won't do any damage to a cat or an O2 sensor.

For $70 bucks worth of petrolene why bother taking the risk. Just keep it for your lawnmower or something.

I just topped up with Vortex 95 and the car seems to be running alot better. The reason I used this mixture was because I did not think anything could go wrong.
Maybe my injectors could get clogged up? Is Diesel thinner than Unleaded ? The car VT 98 V6.
Before I put the vortex in the car it would rev to just over 1000 revs when i started the car. Then a fex seconds later it would almost stall then come good again once or twice
When the thermostat opened the car would idle OK

Just dug out my cat about a month or two ago. Due mainly to going over bumps on a dirt road I think.

I heard they gain power when you run Dot 4 brake fluid through them as well.
