Default Piston slap or stuck lifter(s)

I have this ticking noise in my LS1 that does not go away I`ve learnt piston slap only lasts mostly from warm to operating temp because of the various expanding rates of all the materials used, mine stays like it all the time has anyone had piston slap that did not go away?

yeah my vx does that, thicker oil helped a bit but its still there, 2 mechanics have told me not to worry about it as its fairly common, i dont believe its piston slap though, if i ever get alot of money i'l get it looked at further

You could just have noisy lifters. The springs get soft over time and it doesn't hurt to change them.

I have found out it could be many things...my advice get it checked properly eg holden dealer, could just be valvetrain wear (which wouldn be so bad )or could be oil pressure or flow problems (which wont take long before evrything goes bad... i wouldn overlook this!!!!!!!!!! i had the same problem too, my approach-rebuild, im not finished yet i only just got the motor on the stand tonight but iv got new bearings, rings, oil pump, comp lifters, springs, cam n rods, y/t rockers, timing chain, bolts n gaskets, ill get cam bearings pressed in by shop along with hone and ill do the rest myself..
