hey i was wondering if anyone has a twin exhaust system on a v6 vt,vx or vy?? not supercharged tho.
thinkin about getting one , trying to find out wheather it would sound any good or not , or if its jus a complete waste of time???
any advice on it??
cheers
dave.
I`d say on a stock N/A even twin 2inch would be pushing to large, it "might" sound ok but the bottom end power would suck nuts.
true true, you'd end up having to buy another set of cats etc and you'd have to do major modifications to ur fuel tank which will cost a mint. apart from that you'll lose power. supercharged is a different story i think. i've got a supercharged vt and mine is twin right from extractors to tip. that's how it was stock though. i got a cat back and they kept it twin but improved it. twin but still comes out on one side. being supercharged i don't think there was any loss...if anything i think it gained.
id go single 2 an a half
ok thanx guys, ive already got a 2 and half cat back which sounds ok i jus want somethin a bit off its head lol so i dunno wheather maybe now 2 go 2 a full two and a half all the way thru???
or does anyone have a beta suggestion on an exhaust thats got a real **** off sound to it??
but i definatley DONT wanna lose any power!

go a twin 2 1/4" middle muffler then straight thru...not so much overkill as a 2.5" twin, improve performance of stock 6 with a good note aswell.
I got a twin 2.5", twin hiflow cats and big extractors on a supercharged v6 with about 180rwkw and the exhaust will handle another 100rwkw no worries threw it. My car sounds pretty shit wen accelerating normally but great at full noise. If you get a twin youll get alot of drone and I pretty sure youll hate it. If I where you i would just get a gd hiflow cat and some extractors and keep the single 2.5" you have. These v6 eng are notorious for there bad sounding exh notes![]()
i love cabin drone!!! lol probs sounds strange but i do , umm so ya reckon a twin system will give more drone??
wow thats a first, it will drone like a pig on twin 2.5 inch for sure thats what I`ve got on LS1 and it can take a decent stick maffless etc.. and still have enough flow (900hp flow I think).
waits for.... NAAF, lol
ive never seen a stock FULL twin exaust on a supercharged six
twin 2.5 is good for about 300rwkw then twin 3 make a lot more gains
mine was. still is twin but now improved.you just don't realise coz both the pipes still come out on the one side of the bumper instead of having them come out on opposite sides.
also if you're going to do cats or extractors, or both, you'll have to look at getting your car tuned pretty quick coz it'll throw your computer out real bad and you'll chew up alot of petrol amongst other things. your computer has a little bit of leeway to which it can adapt, barely any (a couple %), but one or both of those things it can't handle. and an average tune is about $1500. but it's definitely a good investment and you would be pleased with the results
i bought a stock as a rock supercharged 6 vx but it was twin cat into one with twin mufflers and a single resinator and that was still the factory exhaust
