Hi Guys,
Bit of a weird one happening to me at the moment.
It sounds as if one of my tyres on the left side of my car has a flat...there is a fast thud thud thud sound which increases as i speed up..i checked to see if maybe the tyres had which they hadn't...i recently had new sway bar links etc put in and it has all been great..
rather worrying sound as i can't think what it could be..driveshaft???diff??
possibly diff...mine started to thud when i turned corners, very quickly though it stared thudding in a straight line...then started screeching and whining lol...got that one replaced real quick...possibly a black spot on ur tyre if u've locked up recently? these are just some thoughts...i'm no expert![]()
might b diff clunk.i had this,i drained diff oil an replaced with nulon synth lsd oil.now no more clunking.by the way i also have a vt clubby
Check tyre tread for foreign objects
Have you locked the brakes recently? Could be a flat spot.
ALso, I've seen cheap tyres do that if you've left it parked for a longish period.
Will properly take off the wheels on the weekend and have a more thorough look...
only need to be able to drive it 4 more days (i receive a company car on Monday) i don't think i will have any issues that prevent me driving to work over the next 4 days hopefully...
It's weird as it isn't ALL the time, has bad times where it is just really constant, seems to do it most noticebly when speeding up i believe..
sounds like it's most likely the diff then...although you'd have increasing noise with a flat spot too when accelerating. dunno...looks like everyone has the same thoughts tho so it can't be too far off
i would say its the tyres some tyres out there make that noise
I had the same kind of sound aswell but to me it felt like the rear passenger tyre was bouncing off the ground with it ,
turned out to be worn rubber gromets in the tailshaft were unbalancing it = $420 parts n labour all good so far
