Have you only just put the 10psi pulley on?

    What fuel are you running?

is it around mid to top rev ranges its doing this?

from what ive read, it HAS to be premium 98 with 10psi pully, motor would be pinging and ecu will retard the timing for a few seconds and loose power then advance again and ping and retard again and loose power . ect. go fill it up with 98 premium petrol and see how it go's.
do ya have a boost guage?

good advice. i recently put a 10psi pulley on and i was running the cheap unleaded and my car was doing exactly that and pinging. scared the crap outta me. what you have to do is just baby it until u get rid of the old petrol. you can do some serious damage by detonating your car. for example, you can bend piston rods and burn your spark plugs, and that's the better side of it. some people blow their pistons right out of the engine and blow right through the body of the car. so ye be real careful with it till you put the good stuff in. i suggest v-power. it is about 20 cents more expensive but your car will run a hell of a lot better, and some people say you get more mileage...but i haven't noticed anything extra. on my car it kinda felt like it didn't know what gear to choose between 40km/h and 70km/h. but once it hit 70 it was a rocket. after i put the v-power in, that kinda stopped. it kinda does it a little now but i don't notice it as much. one day i'll get it properly looked at. but no more pinging

Spot on. Run 98 octane fuel and maybe change the fuel filter if you don't know the history of the car. A clean of the MAF with contact cleaner and a throttle body clean with the intake pipe off will do wonders for drivability. Even remove the IAC and give it a good clean too.
