    Default Mesh Grills?

    Gday guys,

Ive seen a few VTs on this site with silver mesh in their grills, i was wondering whether you could buy them from somewhere or if someone made them?

Im thinking that it would look quite good with my bermuda blue VT s pack.

If anyone has any ideas, that would be great!

    Cheers

the screws weren't tight on one of the grills, coz i put them on quickly as i was swapping between my ss bar and monaro bar. totally forgot that it was barely screwed in and the wind was flapping it around and snapped it off lol

bahaha bad luck. well when i was sanding mine down..i broke the little plastic pins on one of them that hold it into the actual bumper, so one of mine is only screwed in but it's also jammed in there pretty tight

well if you already have all the tools..
    Plastic Primer ~ $15
    Colour-coded Paint ~ $30
    Clear Coat ~ $15
    Mesh ~ $20

So approximately $80. But i didn't have many tools so i had to buy a few things so it cost me about $150. but it's all tools i've been meaning to get and have already used for other things so they haven't gone to waste. For a quicker sanding, i do recommend getting a detail sander from bunnings. i bought one for $30. it's a tiny little sander to get into tight spots. otherwise doing it by hand you'll be there forever...and you'll kill your hands

looks like you may have done the same thing as me though. when i first did mine, i had the mesh on one of the grills the wrong way around lol. i think i see you did that too from your photo lol. so i had to take it off and re do it.
oh yeah, depending on the glue you get, i bought real heavy duty stuff from bunnings again, bout $6-$10 or so

i saw a photo on here of someone with a vx that had done it. but he did it differently because of this issue. he didn't even use the old grilles. he removed them completely and just put mesh behind the bumper

sorry for the late reply guys...
i was wondering if you knew someone who could do them for me (or even sxc_sound or ch1mp) as i dont have the necessary tools or creativity of a lot of other people out there?
if you want to throw some figures out there for me, i would be happy to pay for materials, postage, labour etc?

    cheers

Ive been wanting to do this exact thing to my VU for quite some time. Hate the stanrds plastic look and want something that looks just that little bit different. What I want is exactly what you have in your pic Ch1mp. Would you be able to help me out with some instructions on how you did yours? Or sxc_sound? Id just use black paint instead of the silver that you used. lol
