Default Help - dash and parker lights fuse keeps blowing

Hi the dash and parker lights fuse keeps blowing on my VT , I have tried replacing the fuse with a higher rated fuse and it worked for a while but now it just blows everything I put in it , even upto 30a..
    Any ideas?

Could be water getting into your tail-lights and causing a short. Mine was doing this

There is obviously a short somewhere but I can't really say where, but I can offer advice about putting in higher rated fuses as this can cause serious damage to the wiring. Fuses usually blow because of a short so the best thing to do is find the problem.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

HAHA I had this exact same fault on my old HX kingswood. (remember those cars - everyone used to have one!) Mine was just the wire for the number plate light shorting onto the chrome bumper. Doesn't really help you sorry but I just reminded me of driving home with my high beams on the whole way cos thats the only way I could get any lights on.

Agree with the above posts; you have a wire shorting out somewhere probably the park lights or maybe the number plate. Needs a very close look to find it most times. Don't put a heavier fuse in; this can cause the wiring to heat up and set fire to your car - you have to find the cause

Check for water or excessive moisture in every bulb/globe socket housing, spray'em with W40/CRC.

Next time solder a 40Gauge copper wire!!!!!! You'll never have any more probs with the car, ever .

Thanx for the replies guys, I have been all over the obvious points like water in the tailights , numberplate shorts .... I have found that one of the Parker globes in the headlight is out... Would this be causing it.... I have put fuses back in to see and they will work die an hour or so sometimes and blow ... Where as before they would blowas soon as I put the lights on.
I will get a new globe today for the Parker in the headlight .. Hopefully this will do the trick..

    Cheers j
