hey all, i put a lsd out of a 99 model statesman(vs style) in too my vt. the speedo reads nearly 10k's out. if speedo say's 100kph im really doing 107-109kph. just wanted to get one of the speedo correctors tomorrow but not sure what diff gears i have......... anyone know what gears would put a 99mdl vt acclaim 7-10k's out?..... it was just a standard single spinner from factory and got the 99mdl statesman diff for it...

Yeah they change the pulses per second for the diff. ie) there are a set amount of pps for a 3.08 ratio and a 3.45 ratio (which i'd say you probably have now) So if your speedo was originally 99% accurate, then with the correct pps for the diff it will be again 99% accurate... on the under side of course.

sweet, i just went to jaycar then and they only have one type 'speedo corrector kit' big elec board thing with a few wires and all other little shit in it, was $55 . he said it runs off 12volt,he wasn't too upto date with it all thou, he didnt have a clue really, he didnt know they existed till i told him then he found it in the book. not sure if its the right one or not. or if there's only one type. . . .

do you know the correct name for it and/or the type i'd need?
hopefully theres only one type to make it easy
    cheers again.

also-this whole diff gear things got me stuffed lol,i've read and read and read but still confused. i thought 3.45 was a smaller gear than 3.08 (eg-less top end speed, higher reving)
whats a shorter/more bottem end power/quicker take off/higher reving on hwy/less top end speed- diff over the 3.08?....... like would a 2.08 diff rev off it titty's, eg- 7000rpm at 100kph and would 5.08 sit on 800rpm at 100kph? it that the way it go's or opposite way around. (i know them gears prob dont exist , just an example to make it simple)

OK you seem the have it the wrong way around. A 3.45 or 3.7 or 3.9 or 4.11 diff ratio will take off faster but will rev higher on the highway. Taking my VX V6 for example, used to have standard 3.08 diff, and did 1800rpm on highway, now has 3.45 diff and sits on 2000rpm. So the higher the ratio number then more bottom end take off, and more highway revs.

It's PPK which is pulses per kilometre just so it doesn't confuse anyone. I wouldn't be using a Jaycar speedo corrector when you can adjust the calibration correctly in the stock ecu with a Holden scan tool (TECHII). The car needs an actual pulse value to do its calcs, not a tricked value from the speedo corrector box. Earlier models needed the box but not VT on

llol ok, so sreies 2 vt's are ment to have 3.07 from factory, so i'd have to have 3.06 or something lower.
