2002 vx series2 auto

Has any body have this problem before or herd of it. iv'e got a 2002 v6 series2 auto, when i'm driving at 80kl'm or more in drive with no power button selected and put my foot down harder on the accerlater like i want to over take or just go faster the gear box makes this banging noise like it dosn't know what gear it wants to go in. when I push harder it goes back a gear than accerates away until next time does the same thing so does any one have any ideas.


come on some one must be some sort of a mechanic that has some idea what it might be. could it be cloged fuel fillter. faulty valves in auto.
!!!!!!!!!!note auto was changed when we brought the car about 3 years ago by holden!!!!!!! plse give me some ideas to look at

i dont know what the banging i, but i do know that they hesitate for a moment then drop back a gear under heavy acceleration. its the way the v6 autos are set up, my vt is the same. you'll find the same problem when going up hills at about 80km/h in 4th gear.
