hey ive brought a manual conversion kit of trademe $2500 i was wounderin if any 1 has had any problems doing a conversion its cums wit a getrag gearbox. the clutch that cam with it isnt a dual mass witch most vt vx hav bt this should still work? also dose the getrag bolt up to the vt 5l as this is the next step i wona take with my commodore
is that the cost of a VT V6 manual conversion kit? $2500.....bit expensive i think...im thinking of converting my vt to a v6 manual but not if its gonna cost be $2500!!
yea thats nz dollars tho nd the conversion kit cums with evrything loom, computer, getrag box, pedal box, clutch, fly wheel nd drive shalft it would cost mre than that to buy all these parts seprate im thinkin of gtin a heavy dutie fly wheel nd clutch is ruffly 1g for this item as alot of clutch dumps will b done nd lock diff will b going the same time as the gear box
mate the clutch itself isn't duel mass. its the flywheel thats duel mass. the flywheel has tortion springs in it to make it quieter and smooth ... i just converted my VT S-pack ( V6 with a getrag ) from a duel mass to ridgid flywheel ... trust me extremly worth it ... you can't machine a duel mass flywheel and when your clutch lets go you MUST replace the flywheel ... the cheapest i found was $1600 .... weak
but the conversion was $960 ... that was flywheel and sports clutch
and i honestly don't know if the getrag would line up to a 5l.... would be interesting but =)
