    Default Changing power steering hose

    Hi guys,

My power steering hose that goes from the reservior to the pump is leaking at both ends. Do i need to take anything into consideration when changing the hose? Can i just remove the current one and replace it just like that? Do i need to bleed it or anything or anything else like that?
Any help and advice would be much appreciated!!!!
    Cheers

    hey mate
think you should be all good to simply replace it, but when u are fill it, hold the reservior as striaght as possible relative to the bottom hose connection and fill it up slowly so the air thats in the new hose excapes.
never done it on a vr sc but cant imagine it's too much different to vt sc.
the hoses im pritty sure is low pressure

mine was leaking a bit at the top, so i released the hose clamp and re clamped it on the part of the hose that wasn't squashed from factory. You should be able to get almost the whole width of the hose clamp and it creates a good new seal, without having to replace the hose. I reckon it worked for me fine.

long day mate didn;t see that it was an xu6.
yer if u still need to replace it, you'll have to remove the reservoir, it's held in to the braket with a clip like attatchment, it can be pritty brittal because of the heat so might want to be careful, otherwise you can take the bracket off form memory it was only like 3 8mm bolts. i remember doing it when i was replacing the radiator and had to remove the thermo fan shroud,
    hope that helps mate
