Hey everyone.. i have a 2001 VX comm... i was wondering how much it will cost and what work is involved to change from manual windows and winders.. to electric windows..
any help would be good.. thanks..

well to do it you need
1. electric windows motors
2.all of the doors need different wiring but you can pull it out on one with power windows
3. lower dash facia with switchs
4. all the door trims (no hole for winder hole for switch)
5.A MID BCM with keyheads and PCM as the LOW one has notthing for power windows Pcm so you dont need a trip to holden
other than that all the wiring is under the dash it a lot of work but u will only need a day if that
find someone thats wrecking one with power windows like my Equipe
and it should be fairly cheap
I am not sure sure how much it would cost
but i recommend that you keep the rollers
i have electric windows and they are a real pain
just some advice
hi, i have electric windows on mine and i hate it.
if i had a choice, id prefer manual.
less headaches.
my opinion.
Thanks for all the help.. drivers side window mechanism has shat itself.. and its getting real annoying ordering maccas from the back seat...

sounds like a waste of money too me,just fix the manual one thats broken , electric windows aint nothin special
Serious? I used to think the same until I got the eletric windows, I'd never EVER buy a car without them again, I do NOT like winding in my friends vehicles after I've got used too using a button, It depends how often you use them too i guess, My windows are down almost 24/7, I never use aircon.
Put it this way, If I brought another car one day And there is no eletric windows, I'll easily spend a saturday installing them, Or even paying $4-$500 on them...
Although that's just my opinion....
ive had electric windows in the last 3 cars ive owned 2 calais and a stateman and dosnt realy get me all that exited, just moves the window.
Yea,
i guess im just being lazy haha..
i just figured that if i have to replace the right hand window mechanism i might aswell put in alittle more effort and put it power windows..
atleast just in the front doors
but i see everyones reasoning.. and its probably easier and cheaper to just replace the broken mechanism
