    Default drivers seat plastic trim

Hi my drivers seat plastic trim in my vx series 2 ,the plastic part that is held on with a screw has broken and apparently there is no way of fixing it? only to replace the whole thing.
It is the trim that has the electric seat knob etc.any one fixed theirs?

When I bought my new leather seats from Holden for my VZ I bought that exact part for for the existing cloth seats as it was cracked before I sold them. From memory it was around $50+ It's definatly replaceable! If not at your local dealer try the wreckers they should have one.

Just had same prob with the VY. It broke where that one screw holds the entire side seat trim on. Well I fibreglassed it, doing it properly, spending hours on it, etc. Anyway two days later and it has let go again-DOH! I might try and do the same thing again but spend MORE time and effort and see how she goes, otherwise it'll be Holden parts department, DOH! again. The wreckers where I am don't have anything later than VT/X and they've been stripped bare.

ok, so basically if your trim is the one i have pictured and is the same. there should be 2 holes at the top and bottom of the main hole which is normally covered with a clip-in cover. pull the trim out slightly and thread an appropriate sized zip tie through these holes. then the hard part is getting it connected to a part of the seat frame and getting the zip tie "tied".

    hope this helps slightly.

Good thinking, I'll give this a go, too. Stuff the fibreglass!

Basically the reason it happens is the foam has gone to shit and when u put ur weight on the right side of the seat the plastic hole where the screw sits closest to the steering wheel will snap. From my opinion you are better of zip tieing it as if you replace it new or second hand due to the shit worn foam in your seat it will keep breaking i went through two of them before i woke up to myself so dont replace it unless you are getting a new seat and if you get a new seat you wouldn't need one basically just zip tie it. It should have been rectified by your model as it is a common problem with the vt usually a model should have common problems like this fixed by the series 2 model but stupid expensive Holden have just carried on the problem throughout three friggen models. Its a joke. Good Luck.
