Default vt series 2 SS dash problems

hey guys i have just purchased a series 2 vt SS gen 3 V8 with only 160k on the clock,,
there is markings in the drivers window tint and the rear windowshield rubber is kinda shabby (known VT problem as my exec was doing the same thing) however the dealer has given it to us in writing that he will have all this fixed with no cost to us (unless we get new tint all round, 20% $250, same for 33%)
however another problem we have encountered is that the digital part of the dash is barely working at times, and then it will work fine and then go again. i have provided pics to show what im rambling about
    working

    and hey presto, not

any help would be greatly appreciated, as we have a 3 year warrantee im not to concerned but at least knowing whats wrong i can take it back and ask for it to be rectified

well i think you would be either looking at a new dash.. OR checking the plugs/ fuses ect

Looks like your LCD Screen is knackered, mate. Does everything else in the cluster (warning lights, guages ect) work fine when this happens?

My VX S does the exact same thing .The readout is good on warm days and fades out on cold days . Mine started playing up so i took it back to the dealer and he said its not covered under warranty. I contacted consumer affairs who said that it is covered under warranty, but by the time i took it back it was out of warranty and they refused to do it .

yeah u'll just need a new LCD screen the contacts r the old type that dont require any soldering and rely on a press contact that does over time fail. more so if its been fiddled with in these models.

u may even just need 2 clean the contacts, try that 1st b4 u spend any money on it.
