Vt calais. really frustrated, have spent last few hours tryna find a way to get a thick amp wire through anywhere in teh engine bay, have the rest of hte cable already done up and going up the drivers side waiting to meet with this one.
Apparantly theres meant to be two grommets, one on the left of hte engine to the right or under the brake booster, theres a gromet with cables going through it but nowhere that can be used in it to the right with a bolt going through it and sold steel under it and dont think thats the one people are mentioning. and cant find a gromet to the passengers side either.
If anyone knows where it is would really be appreciated, photo even better. Its on lpg if that makes a dif... i've looked at hundreds of posts on this and cant find it in anywhere detailed and am not going to rip apart hte interior to get to it.
ill give it a shot, problem is i have a shitload of blocks of cables there for some reason... must be related to the lpg i cant even get my hand in there.
i made another hole above the cale run.. stanley knife a hole poke with long phillips/flat.. run cable through, reseal around hole, tape it up neat![]()
just checked it for some reason that area on mine is boxed up tight i cant get in that far, theres a tightly packed array of large fuses in front of it.
try the grommett to the right of brake booster below the heater pipes ?
i ran my amp power wire under the dash on the passenger side.. under the carpet.. and it comes out under the passenger seat.. theres a hole there with nothing running thought it
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, if it weren't for Fords our tools would rust.
there is a gromet on the passenger side and it's very easy to do. it's real far up in the corner on the wall. make sure you feel around for rubber though coz i didn't know it was until i touched it
anyone got any pix of these at all? i cant for hte life of me get anything on the passengers?... the one on the right of hte booster feels like it has hard steel behind it so i dont think cutting into that will get anywhere.
Thanks to the lpg and what appears to be an ABS upgrade top left area pointed oiut on second post is blocked by an array of fuses that cant be moved, top right is blocked off by the lpg install.
can i safely drill a hole in the rubber gromet and the steel? there are several tubes going into it, but solid steel behind it with no space i can put the cable through.
got it through, thanks for help.
ended up having to rip use blind luck, felt around under the dash for anything rubbery, found something poked it got a gap, fed cvable thru looked for it on otherside.
rubber grommit ended up being behind the brake booster where it is literally impossible to get to had to feed a good distance of cable through to get through to it.
