hey guys im a p plater i own a vt supercharged im just wondering how hard it was to take the standered superchager off back to a stock engine
No idea but i'll take the supercharger off your hands for the right price!

nah its not as easy as that, probably best to buy a lil gin rig till your off your p's and allowed to drive the vt
well you actually can't take it off but you can by-pass the supercharger. as in, simply remove the belt from the supercharger pulley. then tighten the belt with the tension pulley. you'll loose a sh**-load of power, but you'll be legal.also people...you cannot simply put a stock supercharger on to a NA V6. the engine is built nearly completely different.
yeah the NA ecotec is 9.8:1 compression i think and the supercharged is someting like 8.8:1, so by taking the charger off youll loose a fair bit of power. not to mention need to get a new ecu/memcal.
9.4:1 compression ratio on a N/A VT V6.
interested in knowing where the OP is? the supercharged VT has an exemption to the normally over simplistic method of the way they calculate the power to weight in Victoria.
plus if it is not allowed for p platers in your state I very much doubt just taking the belt off would constitute a suitable modification to bring it within the regs.
you should check on the local transport authorities website or even make a call to them to check if there is an exemption in place. The stock supercharged v6 only makes the same power and torque as a BA falcon. the quarter mile times are roughly the same. stock standard they are not crazy powerful like a ferrari or porsche. don't get me wrong, you have to treat them with respect.
here is the link to vicroads,

seems you need a exemption now... either it is safe or it isn't why can't they work it out on car by car basis. IE if it is two doors and goes like a rocket and made of tin foil it is no good to learn and have 5 kids from a party in. IF it is a family car that has a supercharger that give smooth acceleration throughout the rev range and is good for towing, then consider it. I'm not advocating blowers sticking through the bonnet here, of course, just common sense by road rule makers.
