VT SS 5L Specs

Hey guys,

I'm about to pick up a 98 VT SS 5L in the next couple of days and I've been hunting for some specs etc on it, have been fairly unsuccessful at the moment.
Is there anywhere in particular that would have these specs?

Try redbook.com.au go to car research and put in what car it is

Found it interesting that the engine numbers listed on Redbook, differ from the engine number in my car.
Might mean she's had a swapsie at some stage perhaps.

Thought it seemed odd...
The car has 250xxx on the clock so I wouldn't be surprised if the engine was swapped.
but that's just pissed me off or put a spanner in the works if its a VN-VS 5L rather than the VT SS 5L.

Would the engine number be the same as the VN-VS 5L's because it was the last 5L to be made before going to the 5.7 ??
Or is there a way to find out if the engine that is fitted is the original engine that was in the vehicle ?

Number was given to me by the current owner. I've not taken delivery of vehicle yet.
I'm supposed to be swapping it in the next couple of days for my zx10.

Number didn't show on Vic's site at all.

Sort of concerning if it's been swapped.
I mean it might be all well and good a nice motor, but is it worth doing if the engine has had swapsies.
Thats annoyed me now : (

All good mate, would much rather know now than find out AFTER the deal is done.
At least now I have the choice knowing full well it's a different motor, whether to do the deal or leave it be.

Not too eager, I've still got a bike (which I'd prob need to swap/sell separately)
I was keen on this car until it seems the engine is different.

Not sure on how much I'm willing to spend.
This guy wanted about 9k and was looking to swap so...

How does that work if it's different engine numbers though???
