Gear box service???

hey all i have noticed in the last couple of days my car is having trouble changing up and down gears for example when using cruse control and going up a hills it has trouble going down gears it sorta goes duh duh change down and when i got home i was just messing around with my car plantedd it off the line and it did the same thing

I somehow doubt it was my lackluster response which prevented others from offering any opinions. Rather, I suspect, it was the initial post. Perhaps you could provide further information as to the age of the gearbox and history of previous work?

well how would i know to post that up wouldnt u ask??? and it just ticked over to 200 000 its a 1999 modle vt calais

G'day mate, just take it to auto service place and get them to diagnose and quote. If you don't like what they tell you, look for a second hand box. They run from $150 to $500 some with warranty depending on where you buy them. Grab a mate or two and a slab. Put it in with a complete refill of auto trans fluid, 12 litres of dexron 3 and new filter and gasket. Back to cruisin'. Oh and dont forget to flatten any dents in the oil pan plus clean it.

Hey mate, when was the last time the auto box was serviced??
If your good with your hands, and have some basic tools lying around, you can easily service the auto yourself.
I’m not sure that it’ll fix your problem, but it certainly won’t hurt to have the box serviced if it hasn’t been recently done.

hey thanks guys yer i am going to take it to a couple of places tomorrow local auto transmission place and ultratune and see what they say weather it conflicting opions or the same
