    Default Heating issues

    Hi everyone,

Having some major issues with my VXII 02 commodore,

Had the radiator replaced as well as the themostat as it was always "hot hot hot" it would go back to normal and be fine, turns out the radiator was rusted and leaking.

So that's been fixed, last night temp goes to Hot and I can smell the antifreeze, get the car home, and today drive home from work with it hot all the trip home, fans full bore for 5 minutes after turning it off.

Looked at the fluid level, seems full. Noticed on the left side of the engine bay everything is coated in a white substance, I can also hear hissing. I moved the car back and saw the white drops on the driveway as well.

It is going to the mechanic when it can, wondering if I should try to drive it there or get it towed, Anyone have some thoughts on what I might be up for?.

    THanks

Mabye your water pump is fualty thats why the tempruture is hot

and white substance means your engine is mixing coolant with engine oil
check you engine oil dip stick if it is white that means its mixing
dont start your engine our you will damage
that mean the head gasket is bad and allowing coolant to enter engine

the white stuff is most likely coolant burnt up, if it appears osrt of frosty if that makes sense.
If so this means you are leaking coolant. Have a look round any hoses you can get your eyes on to see if you can spot a leak.
When you checked the level was it shorty or just after you turned the car off? Often when checking and the car is still hot enough fluid will stay in the radiator and make it "appear" full.

Left hand side as looking from the front (drivers side)? If so check the heater tap and the O rings where the heater hose barbs go into the motor. The white stuff is evaporated coolant residue.
