hi guys and gals, i have just recently purchased at series 2 vt ss, and was wondering where most people start as far as engine mods for more economy and reliability, as this is the current daily drive for the girlfriend to get to work (i drive my 75 series cruiser ute) i don't want nor do i need dyno busting figures, just something to help the engine get to it's reasonable potential (yes everyone knows that engines don't run at their best out of any factory)
any suggestions would be appreciated
James
full exhaust, 2 hole mod and hi flow filter would be a good start
extractors, high flow cats, twin 2.5 cat back and mafless tune+ otr. a shop can give you that whole package for a decent price
tune and exhaust will help out heaps, thats what i plan on doing but i might even go down the road of diff gears

If your just after economy, get a tune.
Not just economy but also the raw potential as I consider any manufacturer to be doing at least three things wrong when they build engines, the choke'm starve'm and make them mentally ill, which ties in with what you guys have recomended, intake exhaust computer tune
even a set of hi ratio rockers would help.
Well a tune will do the most for you, so start with that.
budget for around a grand for a good tune and a few extra parts to help like plugs, leads and air filter

id give brad at enhanced a call but id get a full exhaust first to get more out of the tune and the sound
most tuners prefer it but at the end of the day your gonna get more drive out of the ls1 with a tune first.
Alot of places can put provisions in for stuff like exhausts and otr's in the tune, just make sure if you don't get the otr up front get a mafless tune.
