Whats a fair price?

Ok so toying with the idea of selling my 2001 VU S auto and looking for a VT SS 5.7L manual thats in good cond. I want a V8. What would you guys say is a fair price to pay for one in good cond, definately with < then 200,000Kms on the clock? Also is there anything major I should keep an eye out for when looking for one?

i'd say around between 9 and 12k depend on condition obviously.
possibly even cheaper.

Yeah been having a look through that sticky. Loooots of things there tho. I was just wondering if there is anything major that this model was renound for or anything that I should keep an eye out for.

piston slap was an issue with these models wasnt it.

it's a problem will all LS1s to varying degrees. we learn to live with it. some had it really bad and the engines would/should have been replaced under warranty.

I paid $16000 for mine in June last year, it had 70000kms.

i got a 02 vx ss for 11k with 108000km on the clock, so i would have thought you could get a decent vt ss for less than that!

Straight trade at a dealership. VT SS 5.0L Manual in good nic with 180,000km for my 01 VU 3.8L auto with 150,000km. They have $10K on it and I paid $10500 for my ute nearly 2 years ago so I reckon its an ok deal.

thats a good deal ive seen one with 230000k's with some dents and missing paint go for 6700
