Heya boys and girls.
problem is with dads car (Vx exec)
drove the car on saturday, doors worked fine. come home in the afternoon and dad drove the car to a mates house and then the drivers door would NOT unlock (from inside) so he had to climb over to the passenger side to get out of the car.
* passenger and other doors WILL unlock, except the drivers door.
He needs his car for work, and can not keep climbimg through passenger side as he has a bad knee.
SO... what is the cause of this problem, and how can he fix this problem
(how much is it going to cost to fix?)
If anyone can help, that would be great.
Cheers
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
seen this happen on a VT. only way to open the door was to neatly cut through the doortrim with a sharp knife to be able to manually unlock the door from the inside (because you obviously can't remove the doortrim with the door shut!), and then replace the faulty central locking solenoid.
I had this sort of problem with my vt and it was the actual button that u pop up and down to lock and unlock it was jammed on the inside not sure if thats the problem but maybe u have to pop it out and have a look.
Had a similar type problem on a mates car, what we found was the door barrel had not reterned to its proper position. Had to operate the door barrel a couple of times each way with the key, at the same time try the handle. Once we got it opened , removed the door trim and lubed the door lock assembly and key barrel assembly.
