How to tell if my VT is fitted with a camber kit...

hey all, i have a 1999 series 2 VT acclaim and bought it with "lows" king springs in it about a year ago. i was wondering is there anyway of telling if there is a camber kit fitted to my car cos im thinking of putting super lows in the back, also i've seen other vt's on the road with low springs but suffering from bad camber issues and yet with my low springs i have zero camber... any kind of help/opinion is greatly appreciated =)

easiest way is to check your tyre wear, if you have EXCESSIVE inside edge wear its unlikely you've got a kit in it.
if you don't, either its been lowered professionally (unlikely) or you have at least a 1 point camber kit.
im about to fix mine up with a nolathane 2 point camber kit.

i have zero tyre wear on the inside so im guessing i might have the 1 point camber kit that you have mentioned...having said that if i put super lows in the back would i have to change my camber kit or will the one i have be good enough to prevent excessive camber and tyre wear?

you will need to get the kit adjusted, any good tyre shop should be able to get it balanced and sorted out.

EDIT: after thought - the 2 point camber kits are more adjustable, allowing you to change camber and toe. maybe after you put lower springs on this may be required???

with superlows it wont wear out too much (maybe 5000km less use per tyre), but a 2 point kit would be better. but if you're only going superlow, i personally wouldnt bother, i have supers in now with my camber, and its pretty good for inner wear, although when i had ultras it was very very very bad inner wear.

just get under the car and have a look at the bushs.
If the bushes have a bolt on each side, you have after market bushs. The standard ones have a long bolt all the way through with a nut on the end only. I know because i just put a 4 point in my car and took the originals out.

with just lows you wouldnt even notice camber on your tyres i had just super low springs and had no wear on any of the rear tyres for over a year

don't use the 4 point kit on a vs, vt or vx as the drive shaft can fall out. when they do, they make a very big mess. Nolathane recommends only using the 2 point kit. With kings lows or super lows you shouldn't need them. but with ultra lows you definately need them. i've got ultra lows and i only get 10,000km to a set of rear tyres.
