Should only need to replace the springs. Some recommend to get shorter shock absorbers, but I've been running on the stock shockies for 12 months with no dramas and with SL's.
Pretty easy job too, and will look sweet!
you may need a rear camber kit to keep your rear wheels aligned.
to do the job properly you will need to replace shocks and struts with shortened ones, also the camber kit in rear so your tyres dont wear on insides, hth cheers Bob.
I also want to put SL's on my VT, but some ppl say yes replace he shocks as well, others say the stock shocks are fine to use with SL's. So Im confused as to what to think :S
Also whats an average price of a camber kit?
replacing shocks will increase ride and handling aswell giving longer tyre life however is not necessary.
if your paying a mechanic to di it your will save by doing it all at once having to only pay for labour once.
If your car has original shocks on it chances there had it anyway
gabriel shocks are 89$ a pair in supercheap i saw the other day i thru them in and there pretty good for what u pay, ive been runnin stock shocks and h&r springs for over a year
Stock shocks are fine with SLs but once you go to anything lower e.g. SSL then it is recommended to replace the shockies with shortened travel units. It's purely to keep the springs captive so they can't fall out at max travel and also to keep the shock in its range of effectiveness because once you lower the car the shock is at a different point of static load.
Definately replace the bump stops when you fit the fronts and shave them down a tad
