Vt auto sutffed?

Hey guys

Today went for trip to pick up a car and on way to it the check power train light came on and then it wouldnt drop out of over drive.. all day long every time i turned car off it would be ok for a while then all of a sudden would lose 3rd gear again.. What could be wrong? Gear box or computer? Electrical??

Any ideas would be great!! if its an easy fix would rather do it myself then pay for some one else to do it..

it might be low on fluid. check your auto trans fluid level on the dipstick. Car running, auto in 'P'. Note there are 2 zones, one for hot and one for cold.

shift solinoid maybe myn done it jus take to the mechanic dianostic test n bboooooommm they ****ing tell u so you dont look like a half wit asking a bunch ov nerds that dont know shit
