I don't know if this has been asked before, it probably has. I am very interested in how to get the most power out of my VT WITHOUT adding a supercharger.
I know the basics, extractors roller rockers, etc. but what sort of fine tuning and such can be done to make the six flow like a seven.
I'll be honest, the main reason im asking is becase my friend and I have made a bet and plan on heading down to the local drag course and racing in a quater mile.
He drives a Honda Accord. 6 cyl. I'm sure I can beat him stock but to do it by a long shot would be schwwweeeeeett
Any help appredciateed
I'd just run your mate stock, if you think you can beat him. Rather expensive way to win a bet!
reduce weight! take our your back seats :P hahaha. and spare tyre
pump front tyres up hard, f*ck-all fuel in tank {shud use optimax+bottle of octane boost), low rear tyre pressure, new air filter, light weight oil in motor, remove left headlight(fresh air to airbox) as old mate said reduce weight-remove everything you dont need such as spare tyre, rear seat, crap in boot ect..
now remember warm tyres up, stall it up on the line-launch hard just before it goes green(time it)maximum momentum-minimum wheelspin, you will win.. ;p

he's talking about the optimax + octane boost
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out
diff gears 4.11's
take out ya air filter![]()
Run a shot of NOS, cheap and easy.
When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all,,,,,,,,,

It wasnt just the bet I was looking to win. Im also looking for a mean street machine :P
I idolise these guys who have these cars that can fly through traffic making the most beautiful noise on there way.
Mate there is a lot of $hit that you can do to your car to get power out of it do research on this forum there is a search engine where you can search these things. To get maximum power out of an Ecotec you would be spending tens of thousands of dollars for a N/A engine in future do your research it doesn't have to be on this website just type what you want to know into your internet search engine and it will come up with multiple results I can guarantee it will most likely have something from this website.
To get maximum power out of your engine:
* Stroke it to 4.2L $3700+
* Blueprint the whole engine price not to sure possibly $2000+
* Up grade cam a custom grind varies in price $500+
* Higher ratio Roller Rockers to match cam $600+
* Aluminum ported polished and shaved heads $2800+
* Port match and polish intake manifold not sure on price
* Dual throttle body plenum chamber come racing sell them for $1700
* K&N panel filter + CAI Can be up to $400+ or a pod filter setup not sure on price
* Upgrade all valve train components not sure on price
* The biggest Extractors you can get twin high flow cats and dual exhaust prices vary for full kit $1200+
* Custom Kalmaker tune $1000+
Pretty much all prices are not fitted so add extra cost for that too.
Don't forget about the gearbox, driveshaft and diff upgrades to handle the extra power.
These prices are not 100% correct some have been under estimated.
There is more that you can do to your engine to get power out of it as well I think.
most easy and best mod to make sure you win is add an EXTRA cam in your motor , i have known some ecotech's to take 3 CAMS!!! , this will show power increase of roughly 100hp each cam , also a unit or skin sticker will show good resaults on the dyno

^yep definitely do exactly what he said!

Hahahaha would a big ass Obese Records Sticker cover it?
Most power without a supercharger?
An experimental Rotary Cylinder Valve head exchange? With variable gearing I reckon that would be pretty damn sweet for power, on any engine.
Makes no sense? Okay, to save the google battering here's the general gist of it. Conventionally the engine relies on the valves to pop open and closed when required, and this limits how high it can rev. Valves, seats and springs tend to fail under frequent high loads. Imagine completely removing the valve, seats and springs... instead have a cup, slightly cut away on one side, rotating that blocks off either the intake or exhaust port. It can then reach a much higher rev limit, and with the right drivetrain the result would be remarkable.
apparently they're very good with gas and direct cylinder injection

On another note, traffic is not a playground and those guys who fly through traffic like maniacs should never be idolised. Do it on a track where you're more likely to just kill yourself.
I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on tape somewhere
Put your mother-in-law under the bonnet. Plenty of air out of her mouth with all the complaining. Plumb her into the intake manifold...
I just love the way other motorists on the highway think it's an unmarked cop car.........
And Yes, it is a manual
Paint your car red and make turbo noises.
ive heard from wise men that, if you stick one of these on you get an instant 100hp extra !![]()
