You can do springs without compressors. I did a full set on a VZ sedan in an hour.

To do the fronts: With everything in the car and the car on the ground, undo the top nut, remove the plate, undo the next nut and raise the car slowly untill the wheels are off the ground and remove them. You can then undo the bottom two nuts that hold the strut in and remove it all. There is not enough tension on anything to make it fly apart. Fit the new springs with the strut out of the car, super lows are low enough to not need compressors to fit them, just push the top mounting plate down while holding the strut shaft up and fit the nut. Do it up and refit all the other bits then refit the unit back inot the car.

To do the rears: With the hand brake off, raise the rear of the car, remove the wheels and using a lever, prise the old spring out, then just place the new spring in, keeping in mind which way is up of course.
