Lightbulb VT/VX Upgrading interior lights from Executive to Berlina with Loom

    Hi all,

Ive run into some trouble attempting to install a berlina roof loom harness, which includes the berlina centre dome light with two map lights, and two rear courtesy lights that sit above the back doors next to the grab handles.

Ive installed the new loom removing the loom which attaches next to the drivers pillar floor. Pluged in the new centre dome light and two rear courtesy lights. Now when the door is open all lights come on execpt the two map lights on the centre dome, i press the individual bottons for the map lights and nothing happens, still wont come on.

I had a play around with the dome, when i move the switch to door/off/on nothing happens, regardless of door open or closed the light stays on while the door is open. Once i close the door the centre dome light and two rear courtesy lights turn off as normal when switch is set to door. If I put the switch to off or on doesn't matter doesn't work, light on only when door is open then off after 20secs when door is closed.

Now i realise the berlina loom has a purple wire running from the centre dome through the loom, when it gets to the loom plug on the floor there is 5 wires compared with the executive loom which only has four. Of course been an executive the other end of the loom only has 4 wires. therefore the loom is not working correctly.

Does anyone know how to combat this issue?? Can i splice a purple wire from the floor harness into the loom conection to provide the missing wire in the floor harness? If so does anyone know where i can get this wire from in the floor harness.

Attached is photos to better explain my issue. Any help much appreciated, if i can work out how to fix this issue i will write up a how to as i couldn't find one on the forum.

my understanding of the standard type interior switch should be 4 wires

    constant
    earth

    door controlled on/off
    earth

i would just splice the loom behind the switch itself that has the constant for when you turn the light to on, to the power for the individual lights, that should fix the problem

it would be great if someone could have the answer as im having the same problem also, i used the standard s pac wiring loom and was thinkin of getting a vy berlina wiring loom so i can also hook up the sunglass holder compartment between the sunvisors.
