Hi all..
PROBLEM: i have no trac control button... i know i can just pull the fuse out.. but i like my insurance..
can anything be done?
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, if it weren't for Fords our tools would rust.
As far as Im aware, No botton = No trac control...
mines the same, i dont have a button and therefore i dont have traction control, if i did i would be disabling it anyway

if it does have trac control and no button you should be able to just get the button find the wires and plug it in, i really doubt you have it though
Thanks all for the input..

Yeah that makes sense to me to, I just thought I read somewhere on here in reading back through old threads that someone said no button=no trac cont. But yeah that was obviously wrong or I got mixed up.
I have no button and no trac control

I have had a few VT/VX's depends on the model whether it had TC or not, my VT Executive did not have it, the VT Berlina did, the Acclaim had it as well and my VX SS has it.
Pretty sure if there is no button it equals no TC, just had a look at the VTII sales brochure and it was an option on the lower spec models as part of an options package.
My 2001 VX-Spac has no traction control button, But I'm pretty sure it has traction control, Because When I put my foot down it seems like my car just cuts off petrol, "Isn't that what its meant to do on that model?"
Don't really give two shits though, Don't want my car impounded for burnouts, And if I have traction control there's a reason for me not to do them "Even though I wouldn't"
well i know for certain mine does not have t/c and same as my old vt berlina did not have it either, t/c was an option in the earlier models.

GMH likes to confuse you. I have a 1998 s1 Acclaim which has both Traction control and the button to turn it on/off. Left/passenger side of the shift lever. It is a bit hard to pick it under the bonnet as it built into the abs module.

It's optional on some models so yes they will leave anything out to save cost.
If you have no button, you DONT have trac control.
I have first hand knowledge of it.
I have a VT 1998 Berlina without the traction button but trust me it has traction!! the exec's and lower end series I commodores did not have traction all together and if they did they DID they did not have the button. The series II commodore onwards (if it has traction option eg. acclaim calias/berlina) has the switch to disable it.
are you saying that because it wont spin the wheels?i had a vt s1 berlina too and it would not spin the wheels at all (not that i condone doing that) and it most definately did not have traction control, the engine are just not powerful enough to do it.
on another note have you driven a vt on model with actual traction control?

98 VT Exec, I assure you, there's no button- nor is there any traction control.

I doubt it has, but to assure yourself why don't you e-mail Holden with the VIN and ask them or get the model number of the ABS unit and check that I think on VT's the treaction control is part of the ABS module where as VY's have a seperate module on the passengess side of the fire wall and if not fitted there are 2 studs sticking out.
Except for the AWD variants, which DEFINITELY have trac control, but definitely don't have a trac off button.
When I use the Cross 6 to do reconnaissance for rallies I remove the ABS fuse to disable the traction control because I find it downright dangerous having ABS and trac on dirt, and NOT having the ability to lock wheels in an emergency situation. That said I'd consider myself an advanced loose surface driver so I wouldn't necessarily recommend everyone disable the ABS and trac off road, but certainly on the road there's no need to disable it unless you're being a DH...
