Default URGENT alarm and indicator help

hi everyone, everytime i lock my car the alarm goes off in about 30 seconds, then i press unlock on key and then lock it again and its usually fine, also sometimes one side indicator stays on sometimes both until i press unlock lock unlock a few times until it goes off etc etc. my brother in law serviced it at holdens and ran diagnostics but couldnt find anything. he brought it home and we disconnected the alarm so i can still lock the car, but the indicators still flash like alarm is going off! has anyone had a similar problem? he said it may be a bcm but not to sure. any help would be great as now i have to roll start it every morning as battery goes flat from indicators flashing all night!!!!!

It could be a bad connection on one of your door switches or the one on the boot or bonnet. I would also check that the wire hasn't fallen off the back of one of those switches and is earthing on a panel, which would make the alarm think a door is open.

The front door switches are level with the bottom hinge on the A pillar. The rear door switches are about half way between the door hinges on the B pillar.

ok my brother in law came over tonight to fit a spare bcm but it was from a vt and didnt fit. i asked him about the alarm system and he said the interior light wouldnt turn off if one of the door switches is buggered.

the vx has a delay on the interior light and an energy saver feature. many alarms will false if not designed to work with these systems. although it sounds to me like the alarm is faulty. you will need to identify what type of alarm and note the alarm LED flash code (if fitted)

you cannot just fit a BCM it needs to be linked to ECU with a Tech2 or sililar
