Hi. I am going to put a vs engine in a vx. Can i bring the vs engine up to the vx kw rating and is there anything i will need from the vx engine.

I have found out that a vs 3.8 Ltr v6 engine produces 147 Kw and the vx engine produces 152 Kw, The only difference i can find between the two is that the vx engine has a upgraded inlet manifold and indvidual spark controle. Can anyone please tell me if the vs and the vx have the same came sharfts and what i have to do to bring the vs engine up to 152 Kw. I am going to fit the vs engine into the vx because the vx engine has died and i have a good vs engine in the shed.

a good cold air intake will prob get you there,
you might want to check the laws about putting a older engine in a newer car before you start, make sure it doesn't exceed any emission laws or whatever

Thanks Jay. I have since found out that the vx engine had an updated inlet manifold and somthing called individual spark controll so, if i use the vx inlet and electronics that might do it. I would like to know if the vx and the vy have the same cam sharft profiles.
