Default Having a problem with my seats after fitting vy seats to my vt.

    hey all,

i brought seats that came out of a Vy berlina and went into a 1999 Vt ex. i had a some problems first the wiring and plugs were differnt to the vt ones so i had to cut and join the normal vt plugs to the vy. Then i plugged the seat belt in and when i started up the car the airbag light came on. i have looked at the wiring too many times and nothing has changed, any ideas why it does it because its driving me crazy.

I guessing it relates to the fact that the berlinas have side airbags while the execs don't. There must be a change in the wiring bcos of that. I put VZ seats in my VT, both both cars were berlins so there was no real issues.

Did you have the seat belt pre tensioners unplugged and the ignition on? That may have caused an error code to be logged...

yeh you need to disconnect the battery when you disconnect the seat pretensioner wiring otherwise it logs the error codes and they stay on

Have a search on here and see if there is any way to read codes and clear them....you might be able to clear them yourself otherwise you'll have to take it to holden and they can use their tech 2 to clear codes etc.

Did the seats come out of a crashed car? Because when i put my leather seats in my vt the air bag light stays on because the car i got them out of them had been in a crash and pulled the pretensioner. To fix this problem apparently i have to replace the pretensioner and clear the fault code according to the mechanic that checked it with a scan tool. hope this helps!

hey everyone, ive always liked the noise of a blow off valve hissing at the change of gear, n was wondering if there is a way to hook one up on a alloytec 3.6L without a turbo?

You can't clear an airbag fault light without a Tech 2. If the ignition was turned on at any point with any srs wiring disconnected, it will log a fault and the light will stay on until cleared.
