Hey
I have a towbar im not sure of the exact name but its like a goosneck plate that just has a dowball bolted to the plate. What i need but is the other style towbar with the SHS that the towball slides into normally, It is for a custom type bike rack that i use Is there any way i can convert mine or am i best of just buying that sort of towbar whats its exact name that i should be looking for and how much should i expect to pay second hand or brand new?
Thanks
What you need to do is change it to a hitch receiver style towbar. Hayman Reece is a well known brand, but expensive.
Like naaf said heyman Reece is the best and they bolt to the exact some place your current one is bolted to, best bet is find all the local wreckers then source new bolts and washers just for your own piece of mind and fit it your self
ohk so i need a new towbar, Thanks for the help guys.
Hayman Reece is the OEM (Genuine) bar anyway thus why they bolt straight up.
They do Australian towbar's for just about everyone, including overseas brands like Peugeot, Volvo and Range Rover.
Good luck!
Hayman Reiss do both types of tow bar. The one with the flat tonge is the light duty towbar and the one with the square receiver is the heavy duty towbar. I would just go to the wreckers and ask for a heavy duty towbar to suit you car
