Default VT Series II V8 vs VX Series II V8

I am looking at buying a new commodore, either a VT Series II or a VX Series II. I am unsure which one is a better car to buy, i know the VX is a later model but some people I know have had a few problems with them, but I guess all cars have there own problems. I would like to know what people think is a better car the VT series II or the VX series II, which has the least problems and drives the best.

    Thank you
    MATT

go the vx s2, holdens had sorted most of the bugs out of the gen 3 by then but there were still a few from what i'm told,
Chev badges are an instant fail

Yep, get the VX if you have th choice. VT S2 were the first to come out with the gen3 so had some issues. Always avoid the first of a model if you can

I've got both & to me realistically there is no real difference between them, apart from the vx being manual. You will always get a lemon no matter what car or engine is in it. With the VT LS1,yes there were a few issues due to a manufacturing fault but most if not all major problems were sorted out by dealers long ago with recalls & rebuilds. On the engine blocks you will usually find a stamped X next to the engine number which would indicate the engine was rebuilt by Holden(acording to the techline update i have this is what they did to the engines so when it came in for service they could tell straight away without looking it up what was done to the engine). If you want to buy one let me know,i may be persuaded to part with one of my cars.

As others have said, VX would be the better choice. I can give you two other reasons, 1. the VX SS was one of the nicest looking ever, not saying the VT is ugly but the VX SS is a sweet looking ride. And 2, The series II VX got the new rear suspension which greatly reduces inside tyre wear and improves the handling a little
