Default Headlight / Trip Computer Question

One of the headlight Assembly's on my VT S1 Acclaim is broken. It's actually the bracket that is broken and the whole assembly moves, so the headlight can't be adjusted.

I want to get it fixed and have 2 options. Either buy aftermarket Altezza headlights or Genuine Monaro ones. I have HID's in my car (High & Low Beam) and was wondering, will the original dust caps fit the Altezza's? or if I decide to throw Monaro lights in, will my dust caps fit them? Or will I have to drill new holes etc?

If I go with the Genuine Monaro lights, they will fit straight into my VT S1 yeah? AFAIK, they should, but answers I find are only to do with the tail lights, not the headlights.

If I go with Altezzas, are the projectors in them crap? Will my HID's look shite?

    Secondly:

With the Mode + UP trick to get the "hidden features", most of the options that are listed on this website (And the Autospeed page that details what each option is) aren't there or don't work.

For example, the P.OFF option isn't there, the Tacho option isn't there and when I get to the option that should turn on all your lights on the cluster, sound warning tones etc, nothing happens. The LCD shows all the characters, but the needles don't move, no extra lights come on etc.

Is there something missing or wrong? Not that I really care, I would just like to know

    Thanks for your help.

Not sure about the headlight thing. But I know that my S1 VT SS does the same as yours with the 'hidden modes'. the LCD changes to show all the characters but no lights come on or needles move. Perhaps it doesnt work with the S1's?

Being on a pension now, I have to do things on the cheap so this you might not like but my top o/s headlight bracket broke so I just left it where it was, ran a hacksaw blade through the break and got some 2 part Araldite. Mixed it and fed it into the break plus layered it over the break, about twocm each side. did not move it for the 16 hours recommended then gave it a bit of a twist. Seems stronger than the original plastic. hope this helps

I've glued it once before with Araldite and it broke a little while later. I just want to get the whole thing fixed so I can sell the car soon.
