hey can anyone help im trying to start a vt that hasnt been touched for about 6 months, the battery was dead so i used another one but when i try it it wont even turn over.
as soon as the battery is connected the alarm beeps once, all the electrics still work when the ignition is on but when i turn it to start it makes a click sound from the box above the fuse box and nothing else at all.
the check engine light is on so im thinking theres some sort of critical error, or that the batterys just a bit low.
any other ideas before i go try it again?
Do you know the battery your trying to use is ok?
Sounds like theres not enough juice to engage the starter motor.

my spare battery ive been charging is pretty crappy and doesnt hold much charge, but i tryed another newer battery and it did the same, next time i will bring my multimeter and check
i hooked the battery up using jumper leads, not connected to the old battery though, so i wasnt fussing around fitting them in. will the voltage loss in the wires be too much?
Put the battery in properlt, your probly not getting enough juice through the jumper leads.
In saying that if ur spare battery isn't holding charge then thats an issue too.
Stoke my ego, click the scales!!!
Stoke it!!!!
LOVE IT!!!!!
yeh i cant get a car anywhere near it to jump start it so il pull the battery out of my ford and try that fitted in properly.
its definatly not worth getting a new battery for it im just going to be putting it on a trailer
do a flinstones trick and puuuush!!! haha.. if not then just use a toe rope and pull it
yeh thats the other option, just get the block and tackle out and drag it,
its a fair way to drag before i could get a trailer near it so if i can get it running life would be so much easier haha
il go test my new ideas tomorrow
