I've got the same issues outlined here by others relating to the rear middle belt getting locked when seat is lowed. So in fixing it I removed the bottom part of the seat to unbolt the beltpin and release the lock on the belt and raise seat.
In removing the bottom part of the seat I noticed a large chunck (aprox 50mm dia) burned out rear underside of the seat foam/sponge near the seat belt buckle area on the drivers side of the car.
I can seem to pinpoint what would be getting so HOT under the car to cause this type of burn mark? The fuel tank sits under that section of the car??
Anyne seen this issue before?
Is there any wiring there? The old Volkswagen beetles used to catch fire in the back seat because the battery was under the back seat and people would leave the battery cover off so the battery terminals would short out on the seat springs.
Muffler .
Clagged and full of crap.
