Hi everyone!
This is my first post as i am new to the forums, so bare with me!
I have a 1998 VT Berlina V6. it has done 173,000ks so far and recently (past month) a cracking noise has came about when steering at low speeds. but lately even when I have been traveling at 50 or 60 sudden movement in the steering wheel will still result in the cracking.
I had it serviced last Friday and was told that it is the 'sway bar bushes'! I was told it is easy to do you self if you can get under the car and that the best option is to get the nolathane sway bar bushes in a kit new!
Has anyone had this issue before and have some advice? is it a easy job and what would you recommend !?
Any comments would be greatly appreciated

Need a V8 or Turbo...!
Sway bar bushes are a common problem. The factory ones normally only last 80000Km. Nolathane ones are supposed to be the go. You can buy them at Repco. It is an easy job to replace them just make sure you undo both sides at once and keep your car on level ground when you change them. You can buy swaybar link kits which have a bent link that is supposed to reduce wear on the bushes. If you have a look in the search thread there should be heaps of info on swaybar link kits and bushes.
