Default Coolant pissing out after changing tensioner

I changed over my belt tensioner on my VT today and inside the heater pipe it looks like I've cracked something inside the join of the pipe to the engine. I started her up and coolant started pouring out of it and I've got no idea how to fix.

    Any ideas?

If you pulled the pipe out of the tensioner did you replace the O ring?

Yep. It looks like I broke something off inside both the pipe and the engine though so I'm stressing out that I might need to replace the engine.

I doubt that you broke anything on the engine. There are 2 O rings that need replacing, did you do them both?

Here is a photo of the inlet into the engine, see how it looks like it's snapped off? That's what I'm worried about.

That part doesn't look familiar to me, is it where one of the pipes goes in? Can you remove the part in the centre that is broken?

Yep where the the two hoses clamp onto metal and then the metal section goes into the engine where it's circled on the photo. The alternator and tensioner are both off in that photo. Doesn't look like it can be removed but I'm not 100% sure.

Have you got a pic of the other part it broke off from because it looks to me that the part left in there is the part that slips in with the O ring on it and it should come out. I haven't had to replace that part before so I'm only guessing.

Yep you were right I just got a screw driver in there and levied it out. All I have to replace is that metal part now which will be very simple. Do you know the name of the part?

Went down to the wreckers and pulled a replacement out, and after putting everything back together the part is sealed and working perfectly but now the long pipe that goes through the bottom of the tensioner is now leaking so I've got to pull it apart again tomorrow and get that sealed properly.

    Thanks for all the help!

Glad you got it fixed. A new O ring should do the trick

Just on the removal of that heater inlet casing, is there any "easyish" way to get that bugger off the tensioner ??? Mine seems to be jammed in good and I'd rather not go snapping it in half...
