hey guys, just chasing prices on a new starter motor round adelaide (fitted) for my series 2 vt ss ls1 auto
thankfully it is under warranty, but i would still like to know a rough price as the warranty will only cover upto a certain cost and then the excess falls onto us
If you are looking for a cheap starter motor, here's one but not fitted: VZ / VE 6.0 OR 5.7 LT STARTER MOTORS
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
ok thats really wierd,, i'll start from the start, went to do the shopping last night car started and ran not a problem, finished shopping came back to the car and all we could muster from the engine bay was that horrible "click" from the starter, called RAA, he finally gets there tries for a while and "nah mate it's not your battery it's definately the starter" great, so tow truck home, try starting it again, nothing but clicks,
wake up this morning and try again,,, click
take the missus to work in the cruiser (wasn't she thrilled) come home "ahhh fudge it i'll try again" low and behold it cranked over on the second attempt and fired straight away
WTF!!!! should i still be getting this looked at under warranty or what?
yes i would be
Chev badges are an instant fail
On our LS1 VT Senator, our new starter motor cost us just under $500 as it comes with a pulley attached to it and it"s friggin HUGE.
My VN cost about $80 to buy. So find out how much your warranty will cover, coz then you gotta add installation on top of that too.
