    Default Q about speakers

Installed my headunit in my 98 VT today and the rear right speaker does not work. Double checked the wiring on the head unit and it is fine? Has anyone else had trouble like this? Could the wiring at the speaker have come loose? Any tips would be appreciated

A wire for the speaker is probably broken in the door loom in the rubber boot between the door and body. Sometimes if you open the door the wire will contact again and the speaker will work if that happens you will need to repair the wire. Even if that doesn't happen the break will still probably be there. It happens a lot.

So best option would be to take the door trim off and re-connect?

I've never had to repair one but I don't think you will be able to fix it by taking the door trim off because the break will be in the boot itself. I would suggest disconnecting the loom at the body and the boot at the door and try to peel back the boot, that is if it is a series 1. If you have a series 2 it will be easier, you will only need to unplug the boot at the body and the door
