I bought a v2 monaro diff (3:07 Gear ratio) for my vt 5l v8 (3:07 Gear ratio). I have noticed that the flanges are not the same as my flange is round and the flange of the v2 manaro diff is triangular.
What is the best method to convert them?
ie; Change the flanges around? (if they fit)
or, Change the tail shaft?
Also, if it is the tail shaft that needs to be changed how much will it cost? (approx), form the wreckers? And from what model commodore, will fit my auto gear box to this diff?
I have an idea that the vx will fit, but I am not sure the splines in the yolk will not fit..
you would be better off getting a VP-VT series 1 IRS diff, they are all interchangeable and all have the round flange.
Ive got 3 IRS diffs for sale VP-VT one LSD and 2 open.
You might be able to get away with just buying a new tail shaft from the wreckers to suit the VT series II to VZ diff that you have bought.
