Hello All
I know this topic has been bought up numerous times, but there is so many different views its impossible to tell so i would like to get a better opinion due to my car.
I would like to know Which oil would be suited to a duel fuel vx commodore which has 260,000ks?
I have also been under the impression that penrite is right up there with the best quality oil is this still true?
Thanks
yes penrite is the best oil, i would recommend HPR 15 semi synthetic for your car
That's the 15W-60 Yer?
Nulon is very good and have always used it, no problems either, now you want at least a 20w50 oil for an engine with that many kms on it dont, wudnt wanna go any thinner then that
is your car a v6 or v8, the HPR 15 is better for engines that run a little hotter than others, for instance a v8 or an engine that runs on gas like yours runs a little hotter than standard ones and yeah its 15w-60. a mate of mine is a mechanic at holden in darwin so his info is pretty sound.
its a v6, the hpr15 says it applies to 20w-50, so i guess it alright , its looking like the one ill get at the moment.
i gave my car an oil change with that oil before i drove from darwin to cairns and when i checked in cairns it had'nt even changed colour
