VT Berlina series one has an open circuit in airbag and wont reset.
so assuming clock spring defective?. As the steering wheel has a bit of a grip roll and fairly worn anyway,I found a complete cheap leather replacement, but it has the remote controls fitted.

Question is can I fit the leather wheel with its current clock spring without hooking up the remote controls?? or do I have to change the clock spring back to a standard one so the air bag can be reset?
