g'day just wondering if a faulty heater tap would cause water to leak inside the car?
No it can't, it is more likely to be a leaking heater core or a blocked air conditioning drain hose but since it's not really air conditioning weather, probably not.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
how hard is it to replace a heater core and what sort of money is it?
isnt the heater core on the drivers side this is leaking on the passenger side near the door
It's a major job, complete dash removal. I'ts not unusual to spend up to $1000 to get it done, so you'd want to make sure that it is the heater core leaking. Mop up the moisture from the carpet with white tissue paper to see if it is the same colour as your coolant, assuming you use coolant.

im not sure mate i havent really been taking notice, have you heard of water leaking inside if something is blocked like where the water would normally just drain out onto the road or whatever
Hey there
I haven't had this problem in my vt but
In my old vr the drain pipe for the air con...use to get blocked..Just a simple case of finding the pipe and getting a air blower stick it up the hole..Then water and crap will come out.. And all done no more drips inside car
